On halo 3 how does masterchief die?

I've heard from alot of my friends that masterchief dies at the end of the game and they wont tell me how......so i was wandering how he dies and if he dies then how is there going to be another halo game....

at the end of the game He Flash-Freezes himself and tells cortana to Put out a search signal, And chances are they will never be found.

no he does not die, and halo wars is supposed to be before halo one
