so why is gears of war compared to games like halo and call of duty?

they are two different games made for two groups of people, gears of war is what's called a third person shooter, these require more tactics, and more thought about what you want to do, but halo and call of duty are first person shooters, people like to think tactics are involved... but if you try them... nobody uses them really,and answers like gears is a terrible game clearly come from FPS fans, not the TPS....

people always support what they like, even if it means looking like total D-bags, i used to like gears, but it got old, and laggy, so i like more fps' now.

Gears of war is probably compares to Halo and Call of Duty for a comparison as to which view is better..whether an over the shoulder tactical shooter is preferred, or if a shoot em up first person shooter is preferred.

Its not a matter of how they are similar but how they differ, people don't always want to see what is alike, they compare differences in gameplay between over the shoulder and first person.
