Strange Halo 3 box art plz look (pics of it)?

I got this off amazon expecting it to be the regular box art.
but this is what i got instead.

Sorry the pictures are upside down lol, the back is master chief and arbiter on a mongoose.

Any idea why my artwork is so different? Everything looks authentic i do not think it is a pirated version, i bought it off amazon used.
thx for all the great answers, to tell you the truth i dont have an xbox 360 yet, (Im getting one rlly soon) so i havent been able to test the disk but the disk looks very authentic.

Im not really worried about it as long as it plays im fine i was just curious.

Based on the pictures it is hard to tell, it could be a rip, but the game disc looks to be authentic. It's entirely possible that if you bought it used, the person had lost or damaged the original case, and replaced it by knocking up a different copy.

Also, they released so many different versions of the thing, it's entirely possible it could be legitimate art for that version.

Provided the game works and you don't have any problems with the disc, it shouldn't be too much of a problem should it?

It is certainly an odd color. Would look at the sellers star rating to see if anyone else has left comments. If the print on the disc is ok it's prob legit. Sometimes printers have print run where the colors slightly different but it's not usually that noticeable.

Well I think it's either a fake one, or it's a limited edition because I've never seen one like that

given the fact that it actually has the correct art on the disc it is a real version. i have seen this before and what you bought is a copy of halo 3 that comes with a xbox 360 system. they are selling elites that come with a copy of fable 2 and halo 3 it has a differant case so you cant try to return it to a store for full price. dont worry you dont have a pirated disc. your 360 woulda told u immediately

I would guess that it is just new artwork that they put on later like the year after when they were still releasing it.

That is from a special edition of Halo 3, but it came with a whole bunch of stuff.
