symbol next to gamer tag HALO 3?

im just wondering what the symbol next to my gamertag when i pay halo 3 is,, my old account had a warrior so i didt worry to much about it but my new account had a hard with lips , i mean theres nothing wrong with it it just bugs me every time i play it im jsut wondering what it is?? and how i can chage it

That is your emblem. To customize it, press start, then go to the right, and press appearance. Then press emblem and you can change the emblem. once you are done with that, press colors and you can change the colors too.

Pick Icon.
Pick Background. ( X to Toggle).
Go Back ( B ).
Colors.
Pick Your Colors.

That's your symbol, the one that appears on your spartan or elite when you play online. You can go to settings and customize it, or leave it the way it is. The only thing is that you can't get rid of it.
