The new halo 3 ranking system which has ranks for each different game types?

I hav a fairly new account
i play team slayer all the time and hav over 150 exp
im a cpt, and in the playlist im a cpt grade 3
now the question

do i rank slower in the play list cause im so high in the play list?
should i try a different play list to get a 50
i have played over 280 game and i have a highest skill of 39
is it still possible for me to get a 50 in like team objective or something
