What are the skulls for in halo 3?

Well, the skulls in halo do several things!!
They can be used to,
A. Add points in the scoring mode!!
B. Make the campaign more of a challenge
C. Unlock Different Armor
D. Unlock a gamer score achievement ( if you collect them all )
