What happens when you get your highest skill to 10 or higher on halo 3 before you...

...can rank up by highest skill? For example I make a new account and get to a 15 on lone wolves before I can rank up by highest skill and then what happens when I can rank up by highest skill. This might help just look at the ranks advancements.
