It is a follow on from Halo 3, Only you is going to be called Halo 3: ODST. You don't play as the Masterchief in it, you are a soldier in ODST armour and you are on earth, which has been destroyed and you are greeted by the Covenant. Click the link below to wath the trailer.....

they actually changed the name to ODST and its an expansion for halo 3
it takes place after the story mode and you're not master chief! you're looking for remainder soldiers that survived!

It is the "sequel" to Halo 3. The name Halo 3: Recon was changed to a less sexier name called Halo 3: ODST.
The game is not going to sell for $60. It is going to sell for about $40.
The game is apparently a stealth game and you play a different character.

ODST guy who was like left on earth, there is some trailer in xbox live marketplace that shows a little bit about it. Personally i would rather be a recon solider because ODST looks crappy compared to recon.

Basically he survived the war and bungie.net would have more about the storyline
