its no longer called halo 3 recon, its now called halo 3 ODST. its a game set in the halo universe during the same time as halo 3 where you play as an ODST soldier.

It's been renamed to Halo ODST, it takes place during the time when the covenant invade Earth. This between Halo 2 and Halo 3. You play a soldier that has been separated from his squad and throughout the game he tries to find his comrades.
