What is stronger Covenant or UNSC in Halo Wars?

Say there were 30 UNSC non upgraded marines on one team and on another team there would be 40 Grunts non upgraded (these are both base infantry) What would win in a fight?

Grunts.
They have sticky gernades and grunts are just plain awesome.
Also marines can only shoot because the gernades don't do much.
So its basically down to numbers and grunts win.

According to the game and my experience, the Marines would wipe them off the map.
