whats up with the mmmmmmmmmm`s on halo 3 is it a cheat?

i always play people names like sparkymmmmmmmm and when there playing it only says sparky whats up with that is it an advantage

I don't own the game but here is what I think:

I don't think it is a cheat, it's possibly a glitch, however you could always surf the internet.

The game might be shortening the name so it can cope, happened to me on another game.
