When Playing Halo 3 online, game freezes. Any Ideas?

When Playing Halo 3 on an online match, game freezes and I can't do anything. I can push the XBOX guide button and it will make the sound that it usually does but that's it. Then after 10-15 seconds I get the screen where all the players are listed and at the bottom it either says Starting Game or Selecting New Host. When it does finally return to the game, it shows that EVERYONE but me has quit out of the game. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Or how it would affect my Rank/Experience?

if you think something is wrong just go to the manual that comes with the xbox and on the back of the manual thirs a number to call the company, just call it and tell what's happening to the game and they will decide if to get you a new 1 or they can repair for free cz i did it cz i got the 3 rings but then i said , the heil with that and bought a freikin ps3 wih 80 gb
