Which game is better? Halo 3 or Gears of War 2?

My buddy just got an XBOX for Christmas and wants to know what game he should get. I get to go over and play. Soo which game is better Mutliplayer and Solo Player?
We can only afford one, We're Mexican.

We don't really care about Online play. It's just us two in cramped little house shooting each other. Sooo just multiplayer, and which one has a better story, and which one is more difficult
And does either game let you play with two people in the story?

Both are really good games.

Both are different games as well (one first person, other third person).

Personally Halo 3 is easier to learn than GOW2.

I say try them both. Gears of War is funner because of the cool kills and executions, in my opinion.

Gears of War 2 has a Mexican character....

Halo 3 doesn't(HATE CRIME)

so you know which one to choose.. plus its a better game

Well pal, you cant really compare the two in my opinion. Sure both are 'shooters' but one is first person, and the other is third person squad based. You cannot play one like you play the latter, or you will get destroyed in gears, and in halo you will just be hiding behind things... haha. Anyways I am a total Halo guy through and through, and the original gears I really didnt like, however Gears 2 really did surprise me with quality and the polish they put on the game, they both have a great story, but with Halo 3 it really helps to have played all the games before it to really get the most out of it, kinda the same with Gears, although I dont play that game for the story, I just like the gore haha. Good luck they both rock, Halo's multiplayer has always been awesome for me, I just hate Gears online, EXCEPT Horde. Theres my review haha.

Gears is wayyyy better.
Halo3 is kinda repetitive cuz they've already got about 3 other games
but gears is pretty new, so my suggestion is to get Gears of War 2
