Which game is better Halo 3 or Gears of War?

Is gears of war third person? h8 those type-a games. but still which has a better online

Halo is GREAT for multiplayer, but Gears of War is a more story game ya know? There are many roads I could go down, but I will spare you. Overall I pick Gears of War for having true game nature, Halo comes close, but the main focus for it is LIVE and that costs me $160 for setup and stuff..
