Which game series is better: Halo or gears of war?

gears of war 3 has yet to be released, therefore it is impossible to compare the two. Its like trying to compare ps4 to xbox 720

i really cant say, gears 3 has atleast another year until it comes out. i like halo, it was a pioneer of 1st person shooters, and the storyline is excellent, but the amount of detail to the graphics in gears is better than halo, the story is great but not as good as halo, still great though.
