why cant I take any screenshots in halo 3?

On halo 3 for the xbox 360 i know you can take screenshots in theather mode but when i press the button for a screenshot it does nothing....am i doing something wrong i dont know.

I seem to recall that you can't do it if there are multiple people signed in, but other than that, I can't think of anything...
