i used to have halo 3 and sold it but because of the hype i want to get into it, is it because i never had the legendary and mythic maps that i never got alot of fun out of it?

my little brother bought 1600 msp and he bought all the maps.. the console recognizes that the maps are downloaded.. and even bungie does to some extent... it allows him to play action sacked (which requires all the maps).. but for some reason it wont let him play anything else other then action...
