How to beat Halo: Reach, "The Pillar of Autumn", on Legendary?

The best advice to remember is to listen to Emile -- stay low and let him lead the way! Hug the base of the cliffs on the south side of the pass and do not engage the enemy until Emile makes his way down the hill. Use the magnum to pick off a few grunts, then circle back up and around to the rocks northeast of the eighteen-wheelers. Wait for Emile to engage the Elites there and see if you can lend some additional firepower once their shields are down. You may even look for an oppurtunity to perform an assassination. Push across the bridge very slowly. Use a Plasma Pistol or Plasma Rifle to drop the Jackals' shields more quickly.

Straddle one of the Mongooses after collecting the DMR and Rocket Launcher and take off to the east. Drive fast and outpace the Banshees overhead. You must drive as flawless as a route as you can to avoid being hit by too many of the Covenant in this area. Keep the throttle fully open until you get beyond the Scarabs, then come to a stop inside the cave to allow the Phantom to clear the area before you jump the bridge.

As for Keyes, there's no getting around the fact that this objective is brutally difficult to survive on your own on Legendary difficulty. It's possible, but certainly not for the faint of heart (or ill-tempered). Use the Magnum located inside the UNSC cabinet inside the storage room. The Magnum allows you to take out the Grunts and Jackals without having to get too close or use the Grenade Launcher. Another tactic to employ, particularily in the latter portion of the battle, is to use the Grenade Launcher to set traps just inside the doorway in the storeroom. Stand back and bounce a grenade at the door a continue holding the trigger for manual detonation mode. Wait for Brutes (particularily one with a Gravity Hammer) to enter the area, then release the trigger to knock them out. Ultimately, this battle is going to test your skills in ways no other battle in Halo: Reach has done. Stick with it, use the storeroom for cover, and put the Shotgun and Grenade Launcher to work! Keyes is depending on you.

This is the best summary I have ever read in how to play this game. Kudos for giving the hints and directions on the game and I guess it would be of help to gamers that enjoyed reading too.
