Are the Halo 3 and ODST matchmaking servers the same?

Could I play ODST matchmaking with someone who has Halo 3, or are they different?

big difference. first of all they are both different games and ODST doesnt have like team slayer it only has like a survival game mode. you cant play ODST with someone with halo 3

The Halo 3 Mythic Disk that comes with ODST has access to some maps that Halo 3 doesn't, the other half of the Mythic Maps that the disk gets it's name from. Other than being able to use some play lists that Halo 3 can't, the matchmaking systems is identical between the two of them. Basically when you put in the Halo 3 Mythic Disk, you're putting in Halo 3 that's missing the Halo 3 campaign and adding on all of the map packs for the game without having to buy them separately.
