Bungie logo by name in Halo 3?

Today I logged on to Xbox live and there was a small Bungie symbol next to my name! I'm a pretty good player and I've seen people with the logo before who are also generally good. What exactly does it mean though, and how did I get it?

well you have to create a passport account to get xbox live then you can go to bungie.net and press sign in and it takes you through a couple steps and you make an account the next time you sign in on live you'll have the symbol

You get the little gear symbol by going to www.bungie.net and creating an account there, then going to your user setting and linking your account to your gamertag and then enabling the gear symbol (I really don't know what its called though)
