can i play halo 3 live on the xbox 360 arcade package?

I want to buy a xbox 360 for xmas. I want to buy the arcade cause its the cheapest. And i want to play halo 3 live on it. I hear you need the bigger memeroy chip. DO i, or can i play it with the Arcade package.

you need a Hard Drive now to be able to get on live. thats thanks to the new dashboard that just launched. so unless you get the one the other guy was talkin about from CCity you wont be able to play on live. youll also have to sign up for a Xbox Live account but that im sure you already knew.
