can you "claw" in halo 3?

ive been playing claw since halo 2
since walshy showd the world how he held the controller
and now that the 360 controllers have been out, my fingers dont adjust the same way

i switched my button layout to bumper jumper
and now im doing wat my friends call "the crab claw"
wer i shoot with my ring finger,
melee with my middle finger,
and button smash with my index finger

but idk, how do u guys play?
