Can you have a guest player (non xbox live member) on Halo 3 online multiplayer?

A friend of mine would like to play Halo 3 online (multiplayer)with me at my house but he doesn't have an xbox live account. Is there any way I can sign him in as a guest?

well, i haven't played the haloe 3 multiplayer, but on halo 2 you needed to be in unranked games, and halo 3 matchmaking doesn't have any so, i guess not

Yes you can. Matchmaking is divided into ranked and unranked games. Guests are allowed in the unranked games but not in the ranked games. Have fun!
