Can you run halo 3 on your xbox elite?

My brother wants to buy an xbox that will run halo 3 on it.. does the xbox elite run it?
Sorry, I don't know what this is about, i'm asking for my brother aha.

No you will have to by the Halo 3 elite version. This is gonna cost $10 more than the original version.

the elite has newer software so the older halo 3 version wont work.
