Didn't Halo 3 seam more like a love story then a Battle for the survival of Humanity?

i get what u mean because a lot of the game is centered around the mc rescuing cortana but the part of the game from the beginning to the arrival of the flood infested ship in Africa has nothing to do with cortana except when she appears in the middle of the screen every so often. But when i played it all the fighting and killing kind of made it seem like a battle for the survival of humanity

It totally agree. The story was great in Halo 1 but slowly meandered into the ludicrous and unimaginative in the sequels. I personally thought the master chief/ cortana side story was unnecessary.
