Do you have to buy the new maps for halo 3?

I have a few questions:
Do you have to buy the maps, how will you get the maps, when do they come?

you buy them with microsoft points, which cost money and then download it to your 360 hard drive

on xbox live you can search it up and download new maps, some maps are free and some cost money, or you can search it up on www.xbox.com search up halo and downloads and download some stuff that way.
