Does Master Chaif die on halo 3 at the end????

no too find out more u must finish the game on heroic mode and wait for the credits too finish and watch the video of master cheif heading towards another planet meaning another adventure.

Depends on which Game Difficulty setting you finished the game on.
I'm not done with Halo 3 yet, but I've heard the Master Chief dies at the end of all of the settings, except Legendary. I'll to see for myself when I finish the game.

The Master Chief is able to set off Halo and destroy the flood.
At the very end after the credits are played, he gets into a cryo tube and the tube is seen floating towards a planet.

But to get the extended end after the credits you have to beat the last lvl on Legendary difficulty. Not the whole last lvl Halo, but just the last part where you have to drive out.
