Halo 1 Pc running slow with Vista?

I just recently bought Halo 1 for my pc and found out that it isnt running very well with Vista. I have downloaded all of the patches off of Microsoft.com and that doesnt seem to do anything. I sound in game doesnt sound right and its very scratchy, and it is very laggy, expecially when I play singleplayer, it is pretty much unplayable then. I have a Toshiba notebook that I know should be able to handle this game, but is there something I need to change, or download to make it run smoother? Please specify because im new to this and don't know what to do. Thanks.

you need atleast 1.25G ram to play games

Please check your system if it fit with the halo 1 system requirements. Also check your video card if fits it.

Vista always gives tis problem , i am sure u will get ur solution .
Install XP service pack 3 which is best & satisfy ur all needs.

you see..vista hogs alot of ram...and when you play halo..halo needs ram to..ALOT of ram ..just like your vista...so..its basically sharing ram and thats why halo ..so slooooow....

windows vista not stabile now try to use xp service pack 3 it can help u
