Halo 1, then 2... In Halo 1, Srgt. Jonsan is killed in the Legendary ending, but...

...he is alive in halo 2...? In Halo 1, Jonsan is killed at the very end by the Halo explosion, but he is still alive in halo 2

I know its weird He is in Halo 3 aswell...... he dies in that 1 too.. I think its weird myself.
