Halo 2 multiplayer online switched down....?

Hello i know that multiplayer is switched off on xbox ...but can you stilll play online on Halo 2 vista ?
Halo combat evolved dosent have xbox live...
i know i played halo combat evolved online what im talking is of halo 2 vista's LIVE online services...
