Halo 3 cowbell skull?

Ok so I'm on the ark, playing on heroic. I got the famine skull and I'm trying to get the cowbell skull. I got the grav-lift and made the jump 1st time (lucky) and grabbed the skull but it didn't pop up with the achievement. what gives? I'm holding the skull in my dirty hands. I'm afraid to move on and finish because I don't know if it will give it to me. Anyone know whats wrong?

If someone could tell me why or if it's safe to move on. Also my gamertag is Sniper D74. Maybe you could join me and I'll show you what its doing

Cowbell skull is a silver skull. You dont get acheivements for silver skulls. You picked it up so you have it, all you have to do is activate it in the menu. Hope this helped.

All you have to do is grab the skull and drop it and you get the achievement. After this all you can save and quit. No need to finish the lvl with the skull in hand. This is how i did and it and it gave me the achievement right away.
