Halo 3 forge mode help?

My freind sent me one of his forged maps on xbox live but whne i go to play it all it says is that the player failed to load the map and i cant play it. Can anyone held me?
I have all of the downloadable map packs as well

well with out the map you can't play it . so tell him to load the map

You may not have the legendary map pack or the free seperate map Cold Storage or you might not even have the free heroic map pack. Or maybe you haven't loaded up your maps yet. When you turn on your xbox go straight to forge and choose a map. Before you can it loads all your stuff.
