Halo 3 Help needed...?

Well..
I have been playing alot of halo 3 in the past 2 months,Pretty much everyday.When I'm playing Pm matches with my friends like sniper only or w/e I usely kick ass.But when I'm playing lone wolfs *Thats my casual playlist*
i get OWNED !
Is there any tips ? im not looking for how to play better,But just to get me back on my wining streak.Cause this didnt happen till recently.

since you played it for a while i would say to try and have a deadly compo of wepons, like a plasma for your primery and a marine wepon for your secandary. then when you are trying to kill someone take there shild out with the plasma and finish them out with the marine wepon. Always remember to move around when your going head to head with someone...
