Halo 3 Help!!!!!!!!!!!?

I recently started playing Halo 3 Live but I'm not very good at it. I can only usually kill like 1-6 people per match. How can I get better quickly. To all the Halo 3 pros please give me some tips on how to play better.
(Don't tell me I need to practice more, I already know that).
