Halo 3 Legendary Campaign Achievement?

I have beaten some of the campaign missions on legendary but I can't remember for sure which ones. If the Legendary logo is next to a mission in the mission selection screen does that mean that I beat it on legendary or just that I have played it on Legendary?

it means you have beaton it on legendary i know because i spent ages trying to complete the missions
