Halo 3: ODST Map Question?

Okay, I'm aware that Halo 3 ODST comes with another disc containing the maps from the original Halo 3. (normal, Heroic, Legendary, and Mythic) my question is this: are these maps just for use for ODST, or will i be able to play them on my Halo 3 disc as well?
