Halo 3: ODST online multiplayer?

I heard that in the new halo ODST, there wasnt an online multiplayer. I mean like battling eachother, getting your rank up..etc..If this is the case, then I wont want the game anymore.

is this true?

They dont have a ranking system for ODST. It's only fire fight. You just fight waves of covenants. Its actually really fun. I was kinda scepticle at first, but I think I will play fire fight more than matchmaking. Its fun to work as a team to take down the waves of enemy covenant. I played with 2 of my friends last night and got to wave2 of set4. It took us about 2hours. And we were struggling near the end because of all the skulls that were turned on. All 3 of us have halo3 accounts of 41+. So we aren't complete scrubs and it is actually a decent challenge.
