Halo 3 Players failed to load content?

everytime ive tried to play halo, the map wont load, it will go to 1, 6, 9, 20 back to 0. then it will say players failed to load content. but the wierd thing is that i can take my hard drive out and play w/o it. please help

i think it you xbox 360 hard drive is corrupted so you have to reset the hard drive like it is new so it can or if it doesn't work try buying a new hard drive
