halo 3 rank up question?

i see some people with 0 exp and highest skill 40

how can i do that? i just need to get to a 40 so i can be a conelenel

they quit out of games right before their team wins, so that they lose exp but gain rank, or they go in with a new account and quit out of a lot of games so their exp goes down then they play games as they rank up

That is boosting. And as well as cheating. You can get banned. They get 0 EXP by quiting out of games, so you would loose EXP (Most likely quit out of social so you dont loose your rank) And thats about it. But becareful you dont get hit by the ban hammer!

Leave in the middle of a team game! You need 400 EXP and at least a 40 skill in order to become a colonel
