Halo 3 skill question?

Ok,I have been playing Team Doubles,And when I don't play that i play lone wolfs or team objective.Well I won 1 lone wolfs match,1 team doubles,And tied in the team objectives,Yet my skill didnt go up At all.
I am a captain grade 2 with Currently 186 exp,And a skill lvl of 33,If i can get my skill up to 35,I can skip right threw major and go straight to commander.
ANY help i would love.
