HALO 3- Skull? Need help on one skull.?

In the level cortana can i start at a rally point say bravo for example. If i start at a rally point, can I still get the skull or do I have to play the whole entire level. And in the level before the last one that is halo, I played the whole level and went to where the skull is but it didn't appear any idea what i did wrong.

You have to play the whole level and not skip through it using the rally points.
+you cannot play the game on easy and get any of the skulls.

Well, my way of getting a skull is get the skull then exit using the start button on the controller. (Save and exit) At the campagn lobby menu screen, press X and if the skull you got is there on the options, then you did it right. It should also be on your achievements list. By the way, you don't have to play through the entire level, and the skull on Halo is at the very beginning. To get it, stick to the right wall and keep going untill you get to a foggy cave. Turn on your flash light (up on the D-Pad), then go to the end of the cave. The skull should be on the floor. Hold RB to pick it up and get the achievment.
