i know how and where you get them but what i dont understand is the effects. Are the effects perminent forever or can you switch them off? Also what is all the rumours about the gold and silver skulls? thankz in advance! xxx

You can turn on/off the effects in the "Edit Campaign" menu

Gold skulls - give you achievement points, generally make the game harder to play

Silver skulls - no achievement points, make the game a little more fun to play.
