halo CE or halo combat evolved

Are the two versions halo ce and combat evolved same or is there any difference between them. I suppose CE stands for combat evolved only.

I checked out Wikipedia today and it said that CE refers to custom edition rather than the Combat evolved thing. The original halo is refered to as halo pc.
