"Halo was a proposed film based on the video game series, developed by Bungie Studios. The film was to be directed by Neill Blomkamp with Peter Jackson as executive producer. The film had a target release date of 2008 but production had been postponed until 2009 due to production financing. Fox picked up the project in October 2006. On October 4, 2007, Neill Blomkamp declared the movie "dead". In an interview with Creativity Online, he stated "The film is entirely dead. In the configuration it was in.
