Halo The Movie release date?

Is this a for sure thing that they're making a movie from the Halo Game Series? I found a link with a preview for the movie and just want to make sure it's not a fake. I'm a huge Halo fan and would love to see the actual movie myself.

It was going to be a movie, then the project got scrapped. Then the same people used those scraps and made District 9 (with the help of 25 million dollars from Peter Jackson).

So simply: No. There will not be a Halo movie.

Aaah this preview has been on the internet for years now, if i remember correctly peter jackson was making a Halo film but it fell through and was never released i'm not sure if this was a trailer for his film or just a fanmade trailer (If it was though, they should be in the film industry). There isn't any concrete fact on a halo film right now, but if you look at the trailer for halo reach i wouldn't be too surprised if the make a film about halo.

They actually made a Halo film called Halo legends where it wasn't live action so it may be worth checking it out if you haven't already.
