How can i convince my parents that Halo 3 is not a bad game?

simply tell them that you are the surviving human race that is trying to defend their planet. or you can let your parents play halo 1 and 2 to understand the games objective.

if you are not 17, then I have to agree with your parents. I am an avid player, and i love my violent games, but I believe that the ratings are there for a reason.
If you really want it, i suggest that you go with your parents and rent the game, and let them watch you play it, and then they can decide whether it is appropriate for you or not.

Well. My advice is to tell them it teaches you tactics and strategy (Did for me), There is mild gore, and its not that bad. All you do is shoot aliens, Ask them if they played "Space Invaders" as a kid. Same thing, better graphics pretty much.
