How do I increase skill on Halo 3?

I have been on skill level 10 for months now, and it won't increase. I know that I must play ranked matches, and I do that, but nothing happens!

1st, you have to know that your skill is unique for each playlist. If you play a different ranked playlist, your skill in another will not go up. Also, playing social matches has no effect on your skill. Lastly, you need to win ranked matches for your skill to go up (it would help to also have a positive KD ratio)

The two ways to get XP:
1. WIN ranked matches
2. get kills on ranked matches

the less help you get, the more XP you get.

lol i got to level 45 on lone wolves in that game tahts wen it gets hard to go up anyway you just have to win lots of games probably should only take you 2-3 in a row max but if your playing with really good people you ownt go up as easy

uchiha hes talkin about the skill not the rank. well it depends how you are playing, if your are doing exceptionally well and winning will alot of kills you will go up, if not then you will stay at your current skill level. i got to skill 42 on lone wolves, only because i would usually get all the kills in team slayer and would still lose, try and play lone wolves, try to get 1-3rd place for about 1-3 matches and your skill will increase but what playlist are you skill ten on??

it depends on your win lose ratio. if u win as many games as you lose then u wont go up but if u win more than u lose ull go up.

heres the way i do it.

play non stop for like 8 hours, then you will see a rank difference.

It all depends on how many games you win, and in which playlist.

Basically, you want to win lots of games, and try to win against those higher than you. Try not to quit, betray, or lose. If you go in with a party of friends, you will tend to rank up slower.
