how do i play multiplayer on halo 3

i have halo 3 and i want to play multi player but i do not have xbox Live. i want to ask if i have another controller then can i play with my brother on the same TV together without xbox live? please help.

If you have a second controller, you can play with your bro in campaign, forge and custom games. Under network, just choose Local instead of Xbox Live. The rest is self-explanatory, but it involves him turning on his controller, pressing A to join the game, choosing a gamercard, then the two of you deciding what type of game to play, what options to use in custom and forge, etc. You'll then be able to play splitscreen.

if you dont have live then you simply go into campaign and pick PLAY LOCAL then you can have your brother sign in as a guest if you sign in as yoursellf. but you do have to have a second controller (duh, haha.)
