how do u resume ur game on halo 3?

when i play with my cousin on halo 3 sometimes he has to leave we then save and quit. then when we come back we can't load the game from the point we were at.

if your cousin signs in as a guest then t wont work you need to sign him in as a player and if he doesn't sign in as a guest i dunno Wat's going on
