how do you play 2 players on halo 3 live?

Ok here’s a walk though on how to do that….
If you want to meet up on live (you're both at home on your own 360s logged onto live):
1.Sign onto live and boot up halo.
2.Press Y to bring up your friends list.
3.Click on add friend and type in your friends gamertag and send friend request.
4.Have him accept then invite him to a game in matchmaking BEFORE you start looking for game matches. To invite him go to his gamer profile and click on send game invite.
5.Then once he has joined your party THEN start matchmaking.
Now that you have him on your friends list you will know when he signs on and off and what game he’s playing.
If you are with each other (on the same 360 at one of your guys house):
1.Sign onto live and boot up halo.
2.Go to the first matchmaking screen and make sure your friends controller is turned on.
3.Then make sure you are signed on to a account with xbox live (player 1) and the other person (your friend or you depending on who's house you're at) signs onto the account “Xbox Live Guest”. You will know this worked because your friend (or you if you are at his house) will have the same gamertag as the xbox live player (player 1). Ex: Vio 07(1)
4.Once you are both signed on the start matchmaking.
